About the Books

It’s time for more love in the world!

Jesus speaks of love as the center of our being, the place from which all feeling arises. We are encouraged, “Let your heart be open.” Our heart is spoken of as a waiting a heart, a heart that yearns for love.  There is a “realm” of the heart. In the introduction to A Course of Love, Jesus says, “The mind will speak of love and hold the heart prisoner.”

Returning to our hearts releases us from the prisons we have made.

In November it will be ten years since A Course of Love was first published. I hope you’ll join me in celebrating this gift we’ve each been given and in ushering in 2012 with love at the forefront.

Here are a few of the ways that A Course of Love has become more available and accessible in 2011:

  • A Course of Love is now on Kindle
  • A Course of Love is now on Amazon’s E-Store with discount codes available. After you add a book to your cart, a box will appear for the code. Type in TKXQ9UKD for $5 off the retail price. (If you’re ever doing an event and need large quantities, you can contact me for a reseller discount code.) Each book has it’s own page but the discount code and its amount is the same for all three:

A Course of Love

The Treatises of A Course of Love

The Dialogues of A Course of Love

  • Course of Love’s website is slightly updated with more to come. You can read a synopsis of each book here:

www.acourseoflove.com

One of the qualities I most appreciate about A Course of Love is that it meets me where I am. Doesn’t matter what I’m feeling when I pick it up. Jesus always speaks to me in the present…sometimes consoling, sometimes guiding, always reminding me to return to my heart.

I finally quit updating the introduction to the Course of Love book because I saw how true this is. With each new printing, I felt I had something new to say because I’d changed and it changed with me. I feel the same way about the static website…better to leave it alone and hope it expresses a few of the themes that are common to many of us. This Course lives in each of us by meeting us where we are. Jesus says no one can answer our questions for us because each of us must find our answer within our own heart…and yet he answers us by being there…the Christ within.

I guess what I’m saying is the truth is the truth, but we each apply it and express it differently. This is precisely what Jesus asks us to do and how the truth doesn’t become as static as a website or as rock-faced as dogma. Our hearts are so much more flexible and resilient than our minds that, with our attention turned in our heart’s direction, we are more able to linger without getting stuck and much more willing to embrace the new after the lingering pauses (of turning within).

It took me a minute to catch it, but I think the issue is that you are looking to buy the Kindle edition. The promotional codes are only good on the print books. If I am mistaken about this, please let me know as I haven’t yet heard of an issue with use of the discounts. An alternative to using them is purchasing your book (if you’re looking for one) through Barnes and Noble. They offer the best discount and there are no codes needed. There is a direct link to B&N on the sidebar of this blog.

I am happy that you were able to read sample pages and that you felt the response to them that you did. Hope you will continue reading!

    Mari,
WOW! Your books are WONDERFUL. I’ve so far read only the sample pages from Amazon Kindle. I have tried to order the book using the discount code above and it is not possible. I even checked with Amazon. Their reply:

Digital purchases on Amazon.com are immediately delivered to you electronically, and we do not offer a “Shopping Cart” ordering experience. 1-Click ordering allows us to process your payment quickly and deliver your digital items instantly. The 1-Click ordering option for digital items stays available even if you turn off 1-Click Ordering for other purchases on your account.

I suggest you get in touch with the seller/publisher of the book about the discount code/promo details.

    Love

    David
